Top Bruce Lee Quotes for Motivation and Inspiration

Bruce Lee was a martial artist and the founder of Jeet Kune Do.

Below are my favourite Bruce Lee's quotes which I want to share with you:

# 1
The key to immortality is first living a life worth remembering.

# 2
Showing off is the fool's idea of glory.

Notice that the stiffest tree is most easily cracked, while the bamboo or willow survives by bending with the wind.

A wise man can learn more from a foolish question than a fool can learn from a wise answer.

If you spend too much time thinking about a thing, you'll never get it done.

To hell with circumstances; I create opportunities.

If you love life, don't waste time, for time is what life is made up of.

I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.

As you think, so shall you become.

The possession of anything begins in the mind.

Does God Exist? The story of the Buddha, a religious person and an atheist

One day in the early morning Gautama Buddha was sitting in a garden quietly with his disciples. A man arrived silently and stood in the shadows, that man was a great devotee of Lord Rama. He had built many temples across the country, he had devoted many years in the service of Lord Rama. He would always chant Rama's name and contemplate on Rama's greatness. He was old and close to his last years. Even after many years of dedicated spiritual effort he was not realized.

He wanted to know for sure if there is a God or not? When he heard about the realized one (Buddha) , he came to get his doubt cleared. When he felt nobody would notice him talking to Siddhartha, the Buddha. He asked Gautama "O enlightened one, Please tell me the truth! and truth onlyIs there a god?"

Buddha, from his intuition knew that man to be a great devotee of Lord Rama, he looked at that man with seriousness and said "No, My friend. There is no god".

Buddha's disciples that were gathered there were very relieved and joyous to finally know the truth that there was no god. They all started muttering between them, sharing what the Buddha had just told. Whenever a disciple had asked that question to Buddha he would become silent. So they never knew.

His words spread through the whole town, the whole town was celebrating the day on which the truth of NO GOD was revealed by the enlightened. They were finally free of the ideas of hell, heaven and of somebody sitting up to judge one's actions.

It was getting late in the evening, and once again the disciples came back and sat around the Buddha.

There was a materialist who had been an atheist all his life, he had convinced 1000s of people that there was no god, he used to go to the priests and scholars and defeat them in the argument about god.

He too was getting old and little suspicion arose in him, "what if there is god? Isn’t it waste of my life to spread the "NO GOD" message if there is god?" he thought. He was eaten by this doubt, he finally decided to know the truth and sought the enlightened one.

He slowly came up to where Buddha was sitting, and asked him "They say you are enlightened, Please tell me if there is GOD?"

Buddha knowing that man to be an atheist said with firm voice as if he is in firm conviction "Yes, there is God". Buddha's disciples once again were back to confusion.

To think about:  In the story why the Buddha told the atheist that “there is god”?
Instead of blindly accepting or rejecting god, we will know whether there is god or not by reasoning, by analyzing, by questioning and from our own life experiences.

We don’t really need a book or scripture or anyone to tell us if god exists or not.

So the Buddha, does not want that we blindly accept even his teachings. He want us to make some effort to find and realize the truth for ourselves.

Going with the flow of Life

Imagine a river flowing freely, passing through all rocks.
Imagine a river which knows how to find its own path and destination.
Nobody tells the river where to go. It is natural for the river to flow.
Now, compare this river with our life.

We could learn some lessons from this river analogy and hence improve our life.

1. Life goes in one direction: so we must never look back at our past.

2. We must be dynamic and that’s more natural: Being dynamic means there is energy flow. It also means we are flexible and can easily adapt to changes.

3. We have a destination & we can find our path: In life, we all have some dreams which we want to accomplish.

4. In life we will encounter some obstructions: These obstructions are just like the rocks. We will be able to overcome them easily if we do some effort. Trying to fight the resistances will prevent us from reaching our goal.

5. There are many turns in life: Just as the river goes through many turns, we need to realize that a turn in life is not the end but the beginning of a new path.

6. Let our life be fresh: Fresh and unpolluted water looks great. For our life to be fresh, don’t pollute it with bad things. Be good and do good karma.

Going with the flow of life will give us strength, happiness, success & peace of mind.
Resistance and trying to fight with situations are what hold us from progressing in life.

Instead of fighting with the big rocks to allow the river pass through it, the river simply moves on by passing above it. In a similar way, we should learn to overcome our barriers.

Life is a beautiful river with sweet water.
We just need to realize and be aware of this rule.
Just go with the flow.

IF you are WORRYING it means you are NOT LIVING

If you are worrying it means you are not living.
It means you are simply wasting your valuable time in vain.
It means you are simply wasting your opportunities.
It means you are happier with your past & that you are not enjoying the present moment.

The universe has blessed us with a beautiful life. Be aware of this fact.
Our destiny is in our hands. If we keep on worrying, we cannot progress in our life. We will be living in the past.

We have a choice. We can choose to live in the Present.

We have a choice. We can choose to live in the Present.

Worrying is a total waste of time. Ask yourself “If not NOW, WHEN will I LIVE?”
Time does NOT wait for anyone. This is another fact we need to be aware of.
Worrying is what robs our peace of mind, our happiness, our joy, our success…
Give your worries a break. Free yourself from all worries (past pains, hurts, emotional wounds, anything that prevents you from living…)
Put your burden of worries down. Then you feel light. Then you can LIVE.

It’s very easy to read what I have written here. This is not sufficient. We need to practice what we read to see a real change in our life.
We need some mental effort & practice to be free from worries.
Everything originates from our mind, from our thoughts.

So are you ready for a change?
